Why do you work at Nova Pioneer? What keeps you here?

I am inspired by the teachers I work with at Nova Pioneer. Their commitment to provide the best for all their learners is nothing short of impressive. Day after day, I am struck by their unquenchable thirst for feedback, their active engagement in professional development and their drive to continually improve their practice through peer collaboration. All these speak to a deep dedication not only to their professional growth but, perhaps more importantly, to the precious humans in their charge.

In what ways have you grown since joining Nova Pioneer?

I think the most important growth lesson for me has been the realisation that, even with the best intentions and a large dose of passion, there is indeed a limit to what one can accomplish within a certain time frame. Therefore, I am learning not necessarily to bridle my passion for transformative growth, but to channel it into thoughtfully set and paced goals that take the requirements of time and space into consideration.

What are you passionate about? What makes you tick?

I am passionate about social change and the strategic role that educators can and should play in bringing this about. Teachers occupy a very important position in this scenario. Therefore, I commit to support teachers so they are better able to use their classrooms as arenas for lasting and positive social change.
