Nova Pioneer Ruimsig recently brought together community members, sponsors and players for its third annual Golf Day, a day centred on connection, friendly competition and shared experiences.
This year’s event marked a new chapter as the Golf Day moved from Jackal Creek to Ruimsig Country Golf Club, giving players the chance to enjoy a new course while continuing a tradition that has become an important part of the school’s community calendar.
Participants could enter individually or as part of a four-ball team, creating a relaxed environment where people could connect, catch up and meet others from across the wider Ruimsig community.
With tee-off at 11:00, golfers made their way around the course while enjoying activities and entertainment at different holes. The day was made even more memorable through the support of sponsors including Momentum, Lepas, The Tourist, Renault, Paintsmith Ruimsig, Fielding Dreams, Mangwa Lodge and Clubman Golf.
Their involvement helped create a lively experience on the course and added to the sense of collaboration that ran throughout the day.
One of the standout moments was the raffle, where participants had the chance to win a R10 000 two-night stay voucher at Mangwa Lodge.
After the final putts were played, the event moved into an evening of celebration with a gala dinner and prize-giving. It was a chance to recognise achievements from the day while giving players, sponsors and guests more time to connect away from the course.
Keagan Trevelyan, one of the event’s sponsors and players, summed up the spirit of the day as “fun, great vibes”, also highlighting the opportunity to meet and engage with different people at the gala dinner.
While golf may have brought everyone together, the real value of the day was in the relationships built and strengthened along the way.
Events like these create opportunities for families, businesses and community partners to spend time together beyond the school gates and contribute to the broader network surrounding the school.
Nova Pioneer Ruimsig’s third annual Golf Day was another reminder that some of the strongest community connections are built through shared experiences, good conversation and, in this case, a few hours on the fairway.
