More than 1 000 movie tickets, over 30 market stalls and an evening full of family entertainment made this year’s Nova Pioneer Ruimsig Movie Night one to remember.
A much-loved event on the school calendar, Movie Night has long been an opportunity for families to come together, relax and enjoy an evening under the stars. This year, the experience grew even bigger with the addition of Nova Pioneer Ruimsig’s very first Night Market.
Before the movie began at 19:00, families had the chance to wander through more than 30 stalls, discover a range of products and support local vendors.
The Night Market brought a new energy to the event, creating space for local businesses to showcase what they do while families browsed, shopped and spent time together.
There was also plenty to keep younger guests entertained.
A 360-degree photo booth, karaoke and messy play added to the excitement and ensured there was something happening well before the movie started.
As evening settled in, families gathered for an outdoor screening of Toy Story 5, creating a relaxed atmosphere where learners, parents and community members could simply enjoy being together.
The response to the event was remarkable, with more than 1 000 movie tickets sold.
But beyond the numbers, what stood out was the sense of connection throughout the evening. Families caught up with one another, children enjoyed the activities and local vendors became part of the wider school community for the night.
The addition of the Night Market also created a new opportunity for community engagement, bringing families and small businesses together in one shared space.
Movie Night continues to be about far more than the film itself. It is about creating moments where people can slow down, spend time together and feel part of something bigger than the everyday school routine.
